Adobe announced the Adobe Creative Suite 2 in April, for shipping in May. This major upgrade to the entire suite – Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, GoLive and Acrobat Pro – also includes the new Adobe Bridge, for easier file management. The new Photoshop CS 2 adds exciting, important new features to Photoshop. Digital Photographers will be especially pleased by the new Vanishing Point, Reduce Noise, Smart Sharpen, and many more. |

With the release of the original Digital Rebel, Canon completely changed the landscape of the digital SLR market (as well as forcing prices down in the high end of the digital point-and-shoot market). After almost two years, they’ve finally released an update, in the form of the new Digital Rebel XT. Though not an outright replacement for the original Rebel (Canon is still selling the original at a reduced price) the new XT offers improved features in a smaller body.

For the digital photographer, $500 is the difference between a Canon Digital Rebel XT and a Canon EOS 20D. (For those of you in Europe, the same camera is known as the 350D, and unfortunately, you can’t get a decent burrito there to save your life.) |
