"On most digital cameras, you can simply set your exposure compensation control to -.3 and leave it there. This ilttle compensation will help increase the saturation in most of your images. Obviously, if you’re shooting in low light, or shooting bright images that need to be overexposed, then you’ll need to change your exposure. For most bright lighting situations, though, you can stick to this simple adjustment."
